Did You Know That The River Mill Is Taking Its Electricity From The River?

The hydro scheme delivers clean energy direct to the pub from the VETT turbine installed where the original undershot water wheel was situated. Over the course of the year this generates more power than we can use and the surplus is exported to the grid. The first scheme of its kind in the world our partner VerdERG designed, engineered, installed and run the turbine.

Here are some of the Key Facts:

• Net Head: 1.2m

• Installed capacity: 26kW

• Energy Output: 70MWh

• Design Flow: 3.5m³/s

• Results: 35t carbon emissions saved per year with electricity for 22 homes
